Welcome

Hoole Baptist Church A church which has served the local community for many generations, HBC today is a lively, growing church with a contemporary feel, made up of people across the generations. We are affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and we are members of the Evangelical Alliance , Fresh Streams, New Wine and Link Up.

Our focus is on helping people of all ages to encounter God, to grow in a relationship with Him and to be equipped to serve him in every area of our lives. Long established Christians, those who are very new to the Christian faith and those who are still exploring matters of faith all find a home with us. We hope that you will feel equally at home at HBC.

Our main Sunday services feature contemporary worship, Biblical teaching and the opportunity to engage with God. A full range of children's activities operates every Sunday morning with groups for each age group from the tiniest babies to younger teenagers. A group for older teens meet on Thursday evenings.

The heart of the church are Life Groups which meet weekly in the homes of church members. It is sometimes hard to get to know people on Sunday mornings; joining a Life Group enables us to build friendships with others and makes it easier to feel that we belong in the church. Life Groups provide a place where we can find support and encouragement as we seek to live for God day by day, and as we join with others in seeking to help our friends to find faith in Christ.

We regularly run Alpha Courses for those who want to explore the Christian faith for the first time or who want to find answers to life's ultimate questions. Many people have found this a great way in to the Christian faith and into the life of the church. Whatever your age or background, and wherever you find yourself on your own spiritual journey, we hope that you will feel welcome at HBC, and will be glad to join with us in continuing to serve this community for the sake of Christ. If you want to know more about the life of the church or would like to speak to one of our staff members, please get in touch using the details on the Contact Us page.

Pulse is on the move

We wanted to thank everyone who has supported PULSE, our monthly all-age celebration, in recent months. Many of you, no doubt, will have noticed that we have been really blessed with lots of people coming. This has, however, meant that we have been struggling to fit everyone into the Hoole Lighthouse Centre.

We have therefore decided that, for a trial period, March, April and May, PULSE will meet in Hoole Primary School on Hoole Lane. This means that the next PULSE, Sunday May 6th, will meet at 10.30am in the school, and not in the Hoole Lighthouse Centre. It will be the same PULSE, but in a new venue!

New Arrangements for Pulse:

  • Date/Time: Sunday 6 May, 10.30am til 12noon
  • Where to go: Hoole Primary School, Hoole Lane. The school is situated on Hoole Lane, approximately opposite Housesteads Drive, near to the junction with Lightfoot Street. Please note that it is NOT the school on Lightfoot Street. Hoole Primary is the Church of England school on Hoole Lane. Entrance into the hall is via its own door, which is on the left of the building as you look at it from Hoole Lane.
  • Car Parking: There should be plenty of spaces available on site. However, there is also space available on the roads nearby (or you can walk!)
  • When You're There: There are toilets available on site. PULSE will contain the usual break in the middle for refreshments and activities. There will be some chairs available, but if you are able to come and sit on the floor, please do - you are welcome to bring a rug/cushion etc. if you want to.

We would be very grateful if you could pass on these new arrangements to anyone you know who may come to Pulse. We look forward to seeing you there!

If you would like more details, or have any questions, please contact the HBC Office.
