The Elders meet twice a month for two hours to discuss and pray about the spiritual oversight of Hoole Baptist Church.

Elders who have 'governmental' responsibility for the church
Deacons who oversee the use of resources

Elders have five specific roles:

To be over
To have care over
To preside over
To handle the word of God
To keep watch
