Our Church

When you come to HBC
They meet you at the door,
But when you get inside the church,
Boy you're in for more.

There's always somebody there to meet.
A friend, an elder, who knows?
But I suppose if your very lucky,
It could be our Hazel, or our Rose.

If you get there early,
You'll see the worship team are there,
Busy practicing to get it right,
Before they go for prayer.

The service is usually always led
By Andy who is the Pastor,
And when you see him at the front,
You know he is the Master.

Make sure that you are in your seat
Before it is half past ten,
"I've told you once, I've told you twice,
I won't say it again".

Our church is trying very hard
To show people here in Hoole,
That we are not just any church,
In fact we are quite cool.

God knows the friendship that we have,
And that we will do our bit
To make sure that our church HBC
Is a loving fellowship.

A Friend Indeed

Hoole Baptist Church has had to close
For alterations and repairs
So we had to find another place
For our worship and our prayers.

So the Elders got together
Of course, with Pastor Andy,
And very soon he said "I know,
Hamilton Street is handy!"

Sara and Andy had a chat
And both of them agreed
To share services together
Was a good idea indeed!

So for at least the next three months
The Methodists and us
Would share a church together
Without ever any fuss.

The church being a lovely building
Everything's at hand,
For the Methodist choir and organist
And the Baptist Worship Band.

The Stewards make us welcome
As we come in through the door,
Ready for a united service
Who could ask for more?

The children go out as always
To their many different classes,
Methodist and HBC's
Young christian lads and lasses.

When Andy took the services
And it was time to hear him preach,
We really couldn't believe our ears
Only fifteen minutes each!

Our services are quite different
I think you'll all agree,
But being together to praise the Lord
Is still where we should be.

So when we go back to HBC
We'll remember Hamilton Street
To have been able to come and share with you
Has really been a treat!
